Check official status
The Securities Commission Malaysia provides a Public Register of Licensed and Registered Persons and an Investor Alert List. The alert list is not exhaustive.
Important distinction
An offshore licence, international website or affiliate campaign accepting Malaysian traffic does not establish SC Malaysia authorisation. Some well-known international brands have appeared on Malaysian investor-alert updates, so check the current official record rather than relying on brand reputation.
Research checklist
- Search the exact company and website through the SC’s official pages.
- Check for clone firms using similar names, domains or licence details.
- Confirm permitted activities, client protections and complaint routes.
- Do not transfer investment money to personal or unrelated bank accounts.
